Store Questions
What does the name “Houss Freya'' mean?
When the owner, Daysi De Dios, was creating Houss Freya she connected a lot with the duality of the Norse goddess of love and war, Freya. She always admired how Freya could be so loving and nurturing, but also be a total badass - all the energies Daysi wanted to infuse into her budding business. She then decided to add the “Houss'' in order to create a feeling of community and unification to offer a safe space for people to explore their own journey with spirituality.

How can I stay up to date on what's happening at Houss Freya?
We encourage customers to follow our social media accounts in order to stay up to date on the latest offerings and events we’ll be hosting in-Houss! You can also find a full calendar of events on our website along with links to book readings/purchase tickets for any events happening that month. We encourage customers to subscribe to our newsletter (found at the bottom of our home page) as well to make sure they stay in the loop for any HF news!
Can I pay for an item and pick it up later?
Yes, you can order on our website and there will be a pick up option. Also if we are out of a handmade item we offer a pre-order purchase. The only exception is when we have a new launch. New collections are not available for pick up/pre-order for the first week unless stated.
I can’t make it into the shop - how else can I purchase your products?
We offer online shopping with shipping & pick up through our website www.houssfreya.com. You can also find some of our handmade items on etsy for shipping internationality.
How long has the shop been open for?
Houss Freya opened its first brick and mortar store in Upper Montclair in March of 2020. Due to COVID-19 lockdowns, we were forced to close our doors until June 2020. Since then we have been going strong and plan to keep our doors open for many years to come!

Do you offer readings of any kind?
We have an amazing lineup of services (Tarot Readings, Akashic Record Readings, Mediumship, Tea Leaf Readings, Reiki Healing, Past Life Readings, etc.) that we offer here at Houss Freya. All readers have either been personally used by or come highly recommended by our owner Daysi and are scheduled to read at the shop monthly. Appointments can be booked in-store or online through our webpage.
How does your Loyalty Program work?
Our loyalty program is open to any and all in-store customers. With each $1 spent in store you will earn 1 point credited to your account. Once you have reached a specific threshold, your points can earn you different discounts, free items, promotions, etc. These points can only be collected through our Square system and may only be redeemed in store. Any discounts unlocked through the Loyalty program may not be combined with additional coupons, discounts, or in store promotions. Limit (1) one reward may be redeemed per customer per transaction/day. Loyalty points will expire 18 months after each transaction that you earned points on. Some exclusions apply (new launch items, independent vendor items, etc.).

WhAT KIND OF BELIEFS DO YOU PRACTICE AT HOUSS FREYA?
We do not subscribe to any one belief or patheon at Houss Freya. The owner Daysi considers herself to be an eclectic witch meaning she draws inspiration from a number of beliefs and practices; including her own Mexican heritage. Our Houss Freya products are intended to be used for all intentions and petitions with any faith and/or religion. We welcome people of any and all faiths to shop with us without fear of judgment and encourage customers to ask our shopkeepers any questions they might have.
How do I pay for my reading?
When entering your information to book an appointment, we ask that you provide a card number in order to hold your spot. NO CHARGES WILL BE MADE TO THE CARD ON FILE - unless you do not show up to your scheduled appointment or cancel less than 48 hours before your appointment. At which time a $25 No Show Fee/Cancellation Fee will be charged to the card on file to compensate the reader for their time. You will be asked to pay for the reading at the time of your appointment using either cash or Venmo payments.
Do you offer any items for wholesale?
Any and all wholesale inquiries should be directed to our email houss.freya@gmail.com with the name of the business, location, and contact information.
Can I return a consignment item?
Per store policy, we do not accept returns or exchanges on any of our consignors after they have left the premises. Any questions or concerns can be directed to our company email houss.freya@gmail.com
PRODUCT Questions
How long do your candles burn for?
Our candles will typically burn for around 30-40 hours. We suggest keeping the candle lit until all wax has melted to sides of the glass before snuffing it out for the first burn in order to make sure it burns cleanly all the way down. This will also give your candle enough time to hold your intention.
What makes your products intentional?
When our owner Daysi created these products, she harnessed the energy found in all the natural elements we feature in our candles (herbs, oils, & crystals). These specific energies are then channeled into the products in order to give them their given intentions. Each product is charged with high vibration energy by using channeled energy or sound and cleansed using multiple types of smudge practices.
What kind of wax do you use in your candles?
We use soy wax in all our candles due to the safety and the clean/long burn time it provides to our products.
Why is the New Moon/Full Moon Candle not available at times?
Our Full & New Moon candles are created on their respective moon cycles in order to imbue them with that energy no matter when they are used. Therefore, they are typically restocked once a month a couple days after the Full or New Moon. We encourage customers to call ahead to inquire if candles are back in stock or ask any of our team members in store.
Can I return/exchange this candle or other handmade HF items?
Per store policy, we do not accept returns or exchanges on handmade Houss Freya items after they have left the premises. Any questions or concerns can be directed to our company email houss.freya@gmail.com
What kind of oil do you use in your rollers/body oils?
We use an almond oil base for all our Body Oils & Attraction Rollers. If you or someone you are shopping for have an allergy to nuts we encourage you to check out some of the other - Almond Oil Free - products we offer.
Do you accept returns or exchanges on non-handmade items?
We allow exchanges/returns on unworn & unused merchandise within 14 days of purchasing, with proof of purchase, and tags still intact. Sizes can be swapped within the same styles/prices and returns can be processed as store credit.
SHIPPING Questions
When can I expect to receive my items?
All orders placed at our online shop can have up to a 2 week processing time before they are shipped out. Processing times for orders may differ due to product availability since most items are made to order. For up to date information on your order, you can refer back to the confirmation email sent by Square as we process your order. You can track your order from the link in your shipping confirmation email, as well as sign up for SMS alerts about the status of your shipment.
Can I use or collect points from my loyalty account on online purchases?
Houss Freya Loyalty rewards are both valid & can be used for any online orders placed through our website. Exclusions apply for services, new launch items, etc.
I accidentally put the wrong address on my order, how can I change it?
If the address you entered at checkout was found to be incorrect, please immediately reach out to us via Square or at our email houss.freya@gmail.com with the corrected address. Delays may occur due to address corrections. Any changes to your order may only be made prior to the order being shipped, after which time we are unable to make any changes. There may be additional shipping charges depending on the location of the corrected address.
Do you ship internationally?
Unfortunately, we do not offer international shipping at this time through our online shop.
Can I use a gift card at the Houss Freya Online Shop?
Houss Freya physical and e-gift cards are redeemable both in store and at our online shop. If you are looking to gift or purchase a giftcard to use for any shipping orders, you can find a link to our e-gift cards at the bottom of our homepage or stop by our brick & mortar to pick up a physical gift card.
When will my order ship?
For immediate information on the status of your order, please refer back to the confirmation email sent by Square. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email notification from Square with your tracking information.
